The number of tourists visiting the Cape Verde islands has increased by over 23 per cent on a yearly basis, new figures have demonstrated.
According to Overseas Property Professional, the archipelago has been enjoying a significant increase in interest from foreigners in recent times and the boom looks set to continue.
Fontes Lima, a spokesperson for the government, explained that the total number of visitors could be set to top one million within the next ten years.
"The ministry of economy is pursuing a fast-track implementation programme for the infrastructure investments that will enable the islands to support and benefit from the rapidly rising tourist trade," she added.
This news is sure to interest real estate investors who have been considering buying property in the region, with the potential to rent homes to holidaymakers.
Earlier this year, property agency Noscasa suggested that confidence was returning to the property market in the region.
The estate agent claimed that it had been experiencing an increase in the number of people enquiring about property.
